“We Indigenous peoples, have an authoriuty, right and responsibility to speak up for Nature. Nobody own her, she own herself. Nature is not separate from us. We are connected. We are one.” — Olinda Tupinamba, Community Member, Yawa, Brazil

I am Yawá, Indigenous from the Tupinambá and Pataxó Hã-Hã-Hãe people. I've come to talk about the rights of Nature. We Indigenous peoples have an authority, right and a responsibility to speak up for Nature. Nobody owns her, she owns herself. Nature is not separate from us. We are connected. We are united. We are one.
